Susan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that holds a dual degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Spiritual Family Counseling. She is also a Certified Grief Recovery Specialist as well as a member of the Colorado Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and the American Academy of Bereavement. She does professional counseling for individuals, couples, and families. Her approach is using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which utilizes new ways of thinking in order to positively change behaviors. As a Registered Play Therapist, Susan enjoys working with abused/neglected children and adolescents. In the area of Grief and Loss Recovery Susan utilizes the Grief Recovery Method, which is an in-depth 12-week group outreach program that teaches people how to recover from significant emotional losses. 


Some issues addressed in the Grief and Loss Recovery Program are:

  • The 6 myths commonly associated with grief
  • Learning how to complete undelivered communications
  • Learning to forgive and move on with one's life
  • Identifying negative ways in which people deal with loss


In the area of Marriage and Family Therapy Susan works with families and couples in order to:

  • Improving communication
  • Re-engage committment 
  • Restoring trust and affection in the relationship
  • Developing healthy boundaries
